Buboltz Sports Roundup
Check in with this section to get regular updates on how the Buboltz family is dominating the athletic world! As you can see below, the Buboltz clan is well represented across multiple sports and schools. Going forward we'll include highlights, stories, interviews, and more!
In football, where else would we start, we have 2 coaches (Justin and Jason) and 1 player (Blake). From the way things look early on Blake's team is going to be leading the charge in 2022 as the FVL JV team is out to a 2-0 start with a combined score of 71-12. Blake does a good job holding things down at the point of attack in the trenches. Uncle Justin's teams are off to a good start as well this year. JJ is the Head Coach for the Lakeside Lutheran JV team and a WR coach for varsity. Keep your eyes peeled for a "coaches corner" segment from Justin in the future. In Brillion, Jason Keller is an assistant on the varsity staff and also is head coach for JV. After 3 state titles in 20 years, the bar has been set high in Brillion so we expect things will turn around for the Big Red in the near future.
Moving to Volleyball, the Buboltz clan is loaded with talent. Coach Lauren Kuchenbecker made her debut this year leading the Lady Lions freshman team, while sister Ella holds the fort down as a Middle Hitter on the varsity team as a sophomore. In action vs Kiel on September 1st Ella lead the Lions with a .263 Hitting Percentage and recorded 6 kills and 2 blocks.
Moving south, Grace Vanderhoof has joined the Kettle Moraine Lutheran volleyball squad and their campaign got off to hot start with a 2nd place finish in their season opening tournament. Grace is a back row specialist / libero. Let's see if she catches that growth spurt her brothers have...there must be something in the water in Menomonee Falls!
Not far down the road, volleyball is a family affair for the Watertown Vanderhoofs. Both Emily and Madelyn have joined the coaching ranks (anyone noticing a trend here?) while Hannah has started her 7th grade season.
Heading to the Cross Country fields of Wisconsin, our next two competitors are blazing new territory....seriously, how many Buboltz's do you know who can run long distance? Micah Vanderhoof and cousin Jack Simmons have been scorching the trails early this season. Micah, a senior at Kettle Moraine Lutheran recently set a Personal Record at the West Allis Central Bulldog Invite to help his team with a strong showing. In Lodi, Jack, a sophomore running in his first race for Lakeside Lutheran, had a top 10 finish as his team has expectations of making it to state this year (currently ranked 7th in D2)
** Editors Note** Be sure to circle September 17th and September 24th on your calendars! While our fact checkers are still working to confirm it is believed that on this date two Buboltz's will compete head to head in varsity high school athletics for the first time when Micah and Jack lace up their racing shoes. Good luck fellas!
Anyone who follows gymnastics knows there is no such thing as an "off-season" in the sport. With the competitive season a few months away, Gwen Simmons has been hard at work in the gym getting ready for the Level 9 Optionals season. From uneven bars to vault and beam to the floor, this twisting tumbler has a whole bag full of gymnastical goodies to share with us. We look forward to checking back with Gwen as her competitions will resume just as the NFL season winds down.

One final note, the future appears to be in great shape as the youngest of the Buboltz great grand kids look to be keeping the sports traditions alive. Young Jack Wilma and Griffin Keller have been hard at work in football camp. On a side note, Griffin has been known to channel his inner Danny Larusso (kids, look it up) as he recently earned his first stripe on the white belt.
We look forward to more updates on how these two up and comers grow!
Please keep sending your stats, stories, and pictures our way so we can provide updates as the season progresses. If anyone has ideas they'd like to contribute we'd love to include them!
